Well the January 13-14 weekend at LIBERTY REVIVAL CHURCH (Houston) will be marked in my heart for life. The Franciscan Priest, Richard Rohr went so deep and brought it to the shallow where even a child could understand. LRC Pastor Ernie Fitzpatrick is on the cutting edge of exposing religion in the western Sunday morning culture. The following statements shared by Rohr will stretch, convict, and change you to the point of bursting any wineskin that cannot hold this fresh wine coming from Heaven in ‘07.

1. A dualistic mind eats from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
2. I don’t want to change anyone’s doctrine; I want to change your mind
3. One’s conscience must be free from a dualistic mindset
4. Did you know Jesus never wrote a single word
5. Once you put something in writing, it must be dealt with dualistically
6. Jesus dealt with principles; you will find no doctrine in the Sermon on the Mount
7. Make scripture a mystery rather than doctrine and it means something different at every age
8. Western religion, unfortunately; is having a “love affair with words”
9. Dualism wants to pigeon hole everything. You can’t pigeon hole God
10. Was Mary a mother or a virgin? Both
11. Is God one person or 3 persons? Both
12. Doctrinally and relationally, God wants you to include ALL, exclude NONE. Ouch!
13. God’s Economy-GRACE-means abundance; there’s always enough
    Religion’s Economy-CAPITOLISM-Scarcity-There’s never enough
14. Religion does not look for God but for control
15. The mind is the Control Tower known as the Ego Operating System
16. A dualistic mind cannot walk in unconditional love
17. Forgiveness is the opposite of dualism
18. Dualism cannot handle grace, because grace breaks the rules
19. Dualism says eliminate the enemy; Father says forgive your enemy
20. If you can comprehend something with your mind; it’s not God!
21. A Contradiction-2 things cannot be true at the same time
22. A Paradox-2 things contradict and are true at same time (example-a virgin mother?)
23. Dualism puts a mandate on determining right from wrong
24. A Mystery demands a debate, holds on to both and let the suffering begin. Example-Sadaam Hussein is a son of God…”Damn it!”…..Embrace and cause your Control Tower to suffer
25. Sermon on the Mount Principles-God sends rain on the just and the unjust; Let’s the sun shine on the good and on the bad
26. In parable, Jesus said allow the tare to grow along side the wheat…..Let God be the judge
27. Dualistic mind wants to decide; God wants to take judging away from you
28. Dualistic Mind Excludes….God Includes
29. Our journey is to darkness, not to light; The evening and the morning was the 1st day
30. The Paradox-We know nothing, yet the divine-knower dwells in us; so divine prayer is unknown utterances
31. Don’t abandon critical faculties, but rather sharpen them
32. Remember there is no longer law; it was nailed to the cross. Paul said “All things are lawful, but not all are in your best interest”
33. Marriage or Divorce? Embrace both; marriage is better
34. Heterosexulity or homosexuality; Embrace both; heterosexual is better
35. Chances are the things you are most obsessed with doctrinally, Jesus had no conviction
36. Western dualistic prayer is only announcements to God; God only answers prayer that originates with him; he never answers anything that originates with you; not your will, but His will be done
37. Faith-to live life without resolution; walking in darkness, not light
38. Dualism is good for walking in the earth in the natural; BUT it is of no value at all when speaking of the ways of Jesus and his teachings
39. True prayer is contemplation, not your perverted words spoken without knowing His purposes
40. The Lie Of Religion-”I Know” (The tree of the knowledge of good and evil)
41. A God consciousness is the more you know; the more you know you don’t know
42. Christianity is not attending events
43. Churchianity is attending events
44. God is literally the air we breathe; inhale/contemplate, exhale/action
45. God would rather not be known by any name but rather quite simply, “I Am the I Am”
46. Egos always get paralyzed by suffering
47. Suffering is when you are not in control
48. God wants you to choose ‘heaven’ all the way to heaven
49. Being happy ‘in the now’ confirms the kingdom is ‘now’; today is the day of salvation
50. How you do anything is how you do everything
51. State of the art photography has found a red line around those noted for hate, control, and unforgiveness; also a glow was seen around those full of love and joy
52. Dualism makes one full of himself; while Jesus emptied Himself
53. Western religion has a lust for knowing; we should have a craving for unknowing
54. Less is More??? Provide God with a vacuum and he will fill it
55. Religion’s #1 addiction is “their way of thinking”
56. Every 3 minutes one has a selfish thought
57. Every 3 minutes one has a judgmental thought
58. The mind has so many thougthts of the past and the future, it is incapable of thinking in the ‘NOW’
59. Put the brain in neutral, disengage; all you have is the ‘Now’

61. Exorcism is for people of addiction, and we all are addicted
62. Jesus 40 days in the wilderness were 40 days of contemplation
63. There is no life a part from communion (community)
64. It’s time to magnify God; Did you know they have discovered billions of suns ina single galaxy and there are billions of galaxys
65. Religionn (dualism) trys to fix it, control it, or attack it, while God only changes things by loving them
66. Quoting scripture without experience is religion
67. Prayer does not talk God into anything, not even 82,000 intercessors; prayer only agrees with God, it justs seconds the motion
68. You can only lead someone as far as you have gone
69. ‘Transformed’ people transform people
70. Dualism gets serious about answers; God wants you to get serious about questions
71. Liberals and conservatives both have portions on the truth
72. The heart of God is to be conservative in values, but to be liberal in achieving those values. Liberals and conservatives need one anothere. Ouch!
73. We need to understand people where they are rather than trying to take them where we are
74. GRACE-the place of living without closure
75. Where you stumble and fall is where you find PURE GOLD
76. Those on top have no need for Jesus; those on bottom respond to Jesus
77. Drunks, prostitutes, and tax collectors love the true gospel
78. Jesus was born poor, lived poor, and died on a cross poor and naked; Dualism does not want to follow this ‘lowly’ Jesus’
79. The key to FAITH is to stay in darkness
80. Learn the LAW very well so you will know how to disobey it properly (considering all the LAW has been abolished on the cross).
81. Jesus wasted no time with ‘purity codes’
82. Sins of the body is religions ‘#1 Guilt Trip’
83. Never get rid of pain until you see what it has come to teach you
84. Warriors for the Lord must learn how to cry
85. Grief is the secret place of not being in control
86. Man’s sadness turns to anger and that madness chooses not to embrace grief
87. Most of man’s anger is the result of not embracing grief and sadness
88. Nothing in the earth is good according to Jesus
89. Nothing in this earth is perfect; and yet God chooses to come to you ‘disguised’ as yourself
90. The Kingdom of God is within you
91. Dualism wants to pigeon hole-’ALL’ or ‘NOTHING’; mercy and grace sees nothing totally good or bad. I said MERCY and GRACE see nothing totally good or bad.
92. Religion make church a country club for saved people; they are ‘insiders’, all else is ‘outsiders’
93. To understand, fix, or control is the wrong mode; God desires a weeping mode
94. God is not a problem solver
95. God teaches us to negotiate darkness
96. Incarnation uses ‘crucifixion’ for the transformation of the world
97. When crucifixion comes, you hold it and suffer
98. All crucifixions turn into resurrections
99. There is nothing you can do to make God love you more or less
