Christian Universalism Association (founded May 2007 in Washington D.C.)

Eric StetsonMeet a young 28-year old visionary Eric Stetson, who is the brainchild of the newly formed Christian Universalism Association (CUA). This is the only organization of its kind representing the whole UR community. “I am pleased to announce that the founding Board meeting of the Christian Universalist Association took place as planned on May 16-17 at the historic Universalist National Memorial Church in Washington, D.C.,” Stetson stated. “It was a successful and blessed event! All who participated were excited to take part, and much was accomplished. A great energy and sense of purpose pervaded the gathering, and we believe the Holy Spirit was with us as we established this unique and desperately needed spiritual organization. We believe the Lord will continue to assist us as we strive to unite people and churches to carry forth the message that all are God’s children and no one is left behind,” he concluded. KALEN FRISTAD-CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD

A United Methodist minister for over 30 years, Kalen currently leads three churches in Iowa. He is also the author of a 2003 book, Destined for Salvation: God’s Promise to Save Everyone. Kalen shares, “By helping to organize and resource the rapidly growing number of people who are coming to embrace the message of God’s unconditional love and unlimited salvation, and by facilitating the spread of this message to seekers around the world, we in the CUA will not only help bring about a spiritual revival, but there will be profound social change as well. That is because, as this growing number of people gives up their belief in a judgmental, condemning and cruel God, they come to more and more closely resemble the true God, who is loving, kind, merciful, forgiving, nurturing and saving.” The Bible teaches that Christ is the “Express Image” of the Heavenly Father in character. He conquered sin and death by laying down his life for us and rising from the dead, so sin and death cannot be permanent. In Christ’s resurrection, the life of God has “swallowed up” death, according to St. Paul’s writings. Hence, as God’s cherished human offspring, our destiny is to become conformed to the image (that is, the character) of Christ, “the Second Adam,” and be as he was and is — the manifestation and fulfillment of our creation in the divine image, according to Genesis, from which we have only temporarily fallen away into sin. God has promised to transform and restore all people: “For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” (1 Cor. 15:22).

A couple of the many wonderful quotes found at http://www.christianuniversalist.org :

Rev. Fristad went on to explain the power of Christian Universalism and the CUA to affect dramatic change. “By helping to organize and resource the rapidly growing number of people who are coming to embrace the message of God’s unconditional love and unlimited salvation, and by facilitating the spread of this message to seekers around the world, we in the CUA will not only help bring about a spiritual revival, but there will be profound social change as well.
